After speaking with a few branding agencies, I finally hit the jackpot with a creative marketing group who totally 'got me'.
During our meetings all they kept hearing was that each client has a story to tell. A story behind their hair loss and their journey. Over the many years I have been hairdressing, these stories have led me to where I am today and brought me to this chapter in my career.
Exclusively for women, the name "Hair Story" was born and for me, it fitted perfectly. I checked with a few of my clients to see how they felt about it and all the feedback was positive. So once that was decided I was assigned a designer to work with to make a start on choosing colours and designing the brand.
I really like the colour gold, especially against black, so that was decided pretty early on.
Associated with luxury, quality and elegance, the colour gold is optimistic and positive. It adds richness and warmth to everything it is associated with and it illuminates and enhances other things around it.
Black is the secretive and the unknown, so the two colours have a lot of thought and meaning behind them as well as being something I like.
So once the new name and colours were decided the designer got to work on the logo. She was absolutely incredible, so patient, understanding and keen to work on getting the branding just right due to its nature.
I wanted a powerful logo to represent how our hair makes us feel. Lets face it, our hair is our crowing glory and it has a huge impact on our lives.
I have heard so many stories from you, suffering because you are unhappy with your hair. You don't feel worthy of nice clothes, don't go to many social events and lack in confidence. I wanted a logo that empowers you to feel how you should, like a goddess. Bring back your confidence and give you the advice and solutions you have been looking for.
So here she is, my crowing glory logo. She was one of the 4 first drafts and I fell in love with her immediately. One final check with my clients, after all, it is them who are at the heart of my business, and we were good to go! Each and everyone of them loved her too.
She reflects all the good things about Hair Story but also looks to the future. Contemporary, smart, fresh and innovative. I needed a logo that reflected that but would also continue the tradition known from me - a reliable, friendly, passionate woman to do your hair.
I hope she makes you feel as empowered as she does me.
